Grumpy old men and mascara

What is it with all the grumpy old men on this year’s show?

First we had Kilroy getting everybody worked up with his argumentative, sarcastic banter.

Then we had dull-as-dish-water ex-cop Brian moaning his way around the camp

Now, there’s David Van Day making our nice peaceful camp into one big moody school playground. Thank god we’ve got our Nicola around to keep everybody in check.

“I wouldn’t give up my mascara for anybody,” the Peterborough princess said to the Bush Telegraph when told she would have to give up one of her luxuries so that grumpy David could eat while stuck in the cage.

Quite right Nicola, you wouldn’t see me giving up my Dax Wax for anyone, especially someone as moody as David!

However, an honourable mention has to go to Kilroy. He may have been in more political parties then I’ve had school dinners, but last night’s trial success was quite brilliant.

PS I told you Nicola’s “special” birthday celebration would be worth watching. Priceless.

Can I just say that Nick Reinis seeems to have the job of the century! Following Nicola in I’m a Celebrity and Aston in X factor… Now that’s what I call a great number.
What is your prediction for the winner of both shows?

  2. Haha, thanks very much, I like to think it is! Not a patch on Ant and Dec though, ey?

Obviously, I’m going to say Nicola for I’m A Celeb and JLS for X Factor.

But I have to admit, I do like Diana in the latter show and think she could be the one who pushes JLS all the way.

In regards to I’m A Celeb, it’s pretty wide open I would say. I think it all depends on who the public ‘side’ with on the arguments.

But enough about me, what do you think???

  3. Nick, why are you hoping Nicola will be crowned Queen in the jungle?

The only link she has to Peterborough (AFAIK) is that her fiance plays football for a local team so may have once nipped over the road for a quick KFC.

  4. Hi Joff, thanks for the question.

Personally, I think she’s great entertainment and makes watching what could otherwise be a pretty dull show, very worth watching.

Also, I wouldn’t call the Posh “a local team”. They’re more like the biggest team for miles around and one of the most recognised teams outside of the Premiership. So what happens to a high-profile person involved with them, is interesting to us – especially if what they are doing is being watched by around eight million people all over the country.

Are you not a fan of Nicola? Who would you like to see become King/Queen of the Jungle?

  5. Nicola,
Many congratulations on your fine performance in the jungle and for standing up to game-plan schemer DVD. Despite the adverse weather conditions of the first week the celebrities all got on well until the two late arrivals came. They missed the first week and DVD seemed to want to change and run everything.

I thought you did well in all the trials and was sorry you did not reach the final. All the success for the future and have a merry xmas with your family and a superb wedding and many years of happiness

Congratulations for your fine performance in the jungle and I’m glad you stood up to game-plan scheming DVD who came in and wanted to disrupt a happy camp despite the adverse weather conditions of the first week.

I was sorry you did not make the final, and wish you a merry xmas with your family, a superb wedding and very best wished for your future.
